Our story began in Canton, Ohio, in 1996 with a simple mission: to offer families a sustainable and affordable way to shop for quality clothing. What started with our children’s resale store has grown into a trusted local business spanning three unique shopping experiences - children, teens, and women.
As a family-owned and operated company and woman-owned business, we take pride in creating welcoming spaces where our customers feel at home. Founded by a husband-and-wife duo, Bob and Melany Minney, who met in high school and returned to Canton after years of corporate life and fostering children, the heart of our business has always been family, community, and giving back.
Now under the leadership of their daughter, Barb Minney Schweier, our stores continue to thrive, employing nearly 100 local team members across three locations. Our commitment to excellent service, eco-conscious practices, and affordable fashion has made our children’s resale location a top-performing franchise of its kind in the nation for the past decade.

Once Upon a Child - Gently used clothing, shoes, toys, and baby gear for newborns through youth size 20.
Plato’s Closet - Trendy styles for pre-teens and teens and young adults, all at a fraction of retail prices.
Clothes Mentor - Chic and affordable fashion for women of all ages, with new arrivals daily.
We buy and sell gently used items that meet today’s safety and style standards, offering cash on the spot to families ready to recycle their wardrobes and accessories. It’s our way of promoting sustainability while supporting our community.
